Today’s Encouragement is, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit.” John 14:16-17a NLT
Will Never Leave You –
The Holy Spirit is God, one of three persons who comprise the Trinity, along with the Father and the Son. This is not a simple concept; it is not subject to (and cannot be limited by) man’s logical analysis; it is a spiritual truth.
We accept things like the Trinity by Faith, as Jesus said, “Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.” (John 14:11a)
The Spirit is described as Comforter, Advocate, Helper, Counselor, Guide, Intercessor, and Teacher.
And this Spirit of God Will: Never. Leave. You.
He is God living within us and every believer. There is no question about this, but a related question is, “Are we listening to His Holy Spirit, which lives within us?”
We do this often: people speak, but we don’t “hear” them; we aren’t paying attention or listening. Soon, they stop talking! But not our God! He is always ready, still living within us (He will never leave us, even when we ignore Him!) and still ready to speak to us, guide, comfort, counsel us… always! He forgives our deafness and speaks again when we turn our hearts and ears to Him!
Thank You, Father, for your Holy Spirit, for all He can do in, through, and for us. Thank You for Your Grace and Mercy and for always being with us. Help us attune our ears, minds, and hearts to Your Voice spoken to us by Your Holy Spirit!
