Once For All Time

Today’s Encouragement is, “For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” Hebrews 10:10 NLT

Once For All Time – 

In the preceding verses, Paul discussed the animal sacrifices that the Law of Moses required and the requirement that these be repeated annually.  This was atonement, making things right, often by a sacrificial offering. It is an apology, recognition, confession of wrong, and essentially an act requesting forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration. 

We often do this after a fight with our spouse or friends, even bringing flowers as a peace offering. 

In this same pattern, before Christ, we offered sacrificial offerings to God for our wrongs (sins). And by His Grace and plan, we were forgiven! Until we messed up again, and the entire process was repeated ad nauseam. 

Until Jesus –

Everything changed with the Truth of Jesus. 

Because (Reread it) –

God’s Will was –

For US to be Made Holy –

By the Sacrifice – 

of the Body of Jesus Christ – 

Once – 

And For All Time!

Where do you see anything that depends on you? Are you ever good enough, sorry enough, guilty enough, ashamed enough, or sacrificing enough?  What requirements are on us? Where do you see any repetition of some sacrificial effort we must make?

My friend, Jesus did Everything. He paid it all. We simply accept and believe in Him. 

Father, Thank you for Jesus, who made us eternally right with You, clean, forgiven, and freed, by Him. Once, for all time, for all who believe!
