Today’s Encouragement is, “For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.” Hebrews 6:10 NLT
Your Love For Him –
Isn’t God’s Word amazing? Nestled among these words of encouragement to his people, it is planted here, not hidden, but a priceless link that joins the greatest commandment with the second (Matthew 22:37-40) and simultaneously answers a challenging ancient question.
The age-old question, “How can I love God?” is answered.
Perhaps it was always evident to you, but some of us are only now learning that-
We express our love for God by caring for other believers (reread today’s verse).
Our Love for God is expressed through caring, service, concern, and relationships. This isn’t the “starry-eyed meet your one and only” or “you make me feel so wonderful” type of love. This is God’s perfect Love flowing from Him, through us, to His people, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and then back to God. A perfect circle of Perfect Love.
“We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19 NLT
We do nothing perfectly, of course, but God motivates us, through His Perfect Love, to care for others, often through prayer (His perfect expression of Love) or any manner of genuine care or concern. Then, His Love becomes evident and undeniable!
Our Father, thank You for Your Love, that saved us through Christ, that You continually pour out on us, that brings us life, and which we can liberally share with others, as You have taught us and demonstrated perfectly through Jesus, our loving Savior.
