The Windows of Heaven-
(What kind of a friend would I be if I knew something that would greatly bless you, but wouldn’t tell you because you might not want to hear it?)
‘The tithe’ is as old as mankind. Even the sons of Adam and Eve, though known for other reasons, brought a tithe to God, an offering of their efforts, some of the ‘fruits of their labor’ we call it. Long before any commandment, throughout history, people have recognized that God is the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). So, some tangible acknowledgment of God’s goodness is only appropriate.
This tangible acknowledgment we call Tithe is defined as one-tenth of all the blessings God grants us.
God’s math is not the world’s math, my friend. Everything we have, less one-tenth, is NOT only 90 percent, no, in God’s math… It’s far more than we can calculate! Because God promises us in this verse that when we honor Him with a tithe, He ‘will open the windows of heaven!’ Imagine that…
We are even assured by the closing words, “Try it!”
Thank You, Father God, that when we consistently, sacrificially, and worshipfully bring a tithe to You, You open the windows of heaven for us. Help us to do so in faith and give us the priceless blessings…of love, peace, joy, and contentment.
