God’s Will

Today’s Encouragement is, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT

This is God’s Will –

This verse clarifies God’s will for His people. His will for us is NOT a mysterious pathway or black alleyway that must be walked by blind faith!  Although, even there, He is with us. (Psalm 23:4)

God’s will is clear… 

Be joyful 

Be prayerful 

Be thankful 

We all experience dark moments when joy, prayer, and thanks seem unimaginable and unattainable. Yet, my friend, this is still God’s Will for us. Notice the perspective: “in all circumstances,” “always,” and “never stop.”

When dark days come, the “valley of the shadow” lies ahead or all around, and hope seems a cruel hoax; we can choose Joy, Prayer, and Thanks in our darkest despair (even in our greatest elation!). 

Why?  Because it’s God’s Will!  We are forgiven. Our painful circumstances are not eternal, but we are granted eternal life with Him. And God is always with us.  We might not feel it, maybe can’t even imagine it… but God’s Truth is not determined by our feelings or circumstances. 

When we choose Joy, Prayer, and Thanks, then – the Light of Christ dawns in the darkness! And the darkness cannot overcome His Light! (John 1:5)

Thank You, Lord, for making Your will clear to us. Help us, for we can do nothing without You (John 15:5), to choose to trust and believe You, to choose Joy, Prayer, and Thanks, always.
