Today’s Encouragement is, “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” 1 John 4:18 NLT
Perfect Love –
Only God’s Love for us is perfect. Our love for Him will never be perfect in this life (but it will be in Eternity!)
But His Love is Perfect, and it expels, drives out, and eliminates all fear. As believers in Christ, we are God’s chosen and adopted children, and we do not need to fear God’s anger, power, or punishment! That fear is certainly appropriate for those who have not been saved by faith in Jesus, but we are adopted into His family, entirely and forever cleansed of every wrong past, present, and future. And as a result of the perfect work of Jesus, we are new creations, and our new relationship with God is of Love, not of fear! We still must understand that God is Holy, Righteous, and far beyond our understanding! Yet Jesus died to make us right with God! And He did so perfectly! We only need to accept His grace.
Then, my friend, we can come boldly (not cowering in fear, nor arrogance) with the confident assurance of the cleansing power of Jesus into the very presence of God (Ephesians 3:12), our Father, who loves us so much that He gave… (John 3:16)
This is our God! And He loves us perfectly!
Thank You, Father God, for Jesus, who died so we could become Your sons and daughters. We certainly don’t deserve this, but Jesus paid the highest price for us. Thank You for Your Perfect Love.
