Today’s Encouragement is, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33 NLT
Everything We Need –
In the previous verses, Jesus explains that God provides food for the birds, so don’t worry about food; God will provide for us.
He will give us whatever we may be worried, concerned, or anxious about! Therefore, we can Rest! We can Trust Him to provide – Everything we need!
Nowhere does He say we can be lazy and do nothing. But, knowing that as we “live righteously” doing what we can in life (which is immeasurably tiny in eternal perspective), He will provide for us precisely what we need. He does this because of His Grace. We are imperfect, sinful, and failures in every way, but He, by Grace, more than makes up for us what we cannot do!
And is it possible, my friend, that as we learn to Rest in Him, at peace with ourselves and all others, trusting Him for our every need, every care, every task… He will – give us everything we need? And He will do for us what we cannot do? He has already forgiven us for all the wrong we have done and ever will do! Will He not also give us everything we need?
And then, Rest in Him becomes our lifestyle! We are not worried, anxious, working frantically, driven, obsessed, overwhelmed, exhausted…
Every moment, we can Trust and Rest in Him!
Father God, as always, we are amazed at all that You have done and will do for us as Your people. Thank You for giving us this assurance that You will give us everything we need!
