Today’s Encouragement is, “He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs-for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need.” Acts 17:24-25 NLT
He Has No Needs –
Consider this for a moment – God has no needs!
Not food, water, shelter, clothing, or friends. He doesn’t need our obedience, our devotion, faith, our witnessing or prayers, He doesn’t even need our worship! The entire host of heaven never ceases to worship Him. But He has no needs!
This is because He is complete in Himself. He lacks nothing, so he needs nothing external to complete Himself or satisfy Himself. He is already, always, eternally Complete! He is Perfect!
We are often in error when we try to apply our human emotions, feelings, and ideas to our infinite Creator. He isn’t ’like us’. Instead, we are like Him, made in His image (Genesis 1:27).
This passage so clearly describes the immeasurable distinction between Him and us: The Creator and the created. “’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.’” Isaiah 55:8NLT
Is it possible that – everything God has told us to do, every commandment, every instruction… Is FOR US? For our Good! Because we need Him!
He has no needs! But – the opposite is just as true! We need Him!
Father, help us recognize our innate need for You, Your Spirit, and Your amazing Grace, which saves us from ourselves.
