Dying is even better –
Now, there’s a phrase you don’t hear every day!
Dying is even better than… living for Christ?!?!?
If we sincerely believe that eternal life awaits us, that We will be present with Christ, in God’s kingdom, at peace, free from every trouble and trial, free from every pain and evil, in complete and perfect peace…
Why, then, do we fight so hard against it?
We wage war on death in this life! Yet that is the very doorway to God’s perfect and heavenly Bliss!
It’s pretty hypocritical when you think about it. We defend our defense of life vigorously! “But life is precious!” we say, or “It is better to live for Christ!” But God’s Word is the authority, and it says dying is even better!
I’m not advocating martyrdom! Or saying we shouldn’t take care of our health… but for those who believe in Jesus, “dying is even better!”
Some dear friends once told us that shortly after their mother had had a spiritual encounter with Jesus, she developed terminal cancer. She told her daughters, our friends, “Please don’t pray for me to be healed! I’ve met Jesus, and I want to go live with Him!”
Oh – for such faith!
Our Father, strengthen our faith so that we too can speak these words with conviction and honesty, “For to me, living means living for Christ and dying is even better.”
