Do What Pleases Him

Today’s Encouragement is, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Do everything without complaining and arguing.” Philippians 2:13-14 NLT

Do What Pleases Him –

Now, this is amazing-

God is (Now, already)

Working in you (He is doing this in us)

Giving both desire and power (We have no excuse)

To do what pleases Him. (The Right thing)

He lives in and through us; He transforms us, and as He does so, we are given a new nature! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Now, in our new nature, we have the desire and ability to do what pleases God!

A warning quickly follows that stings me a bit… “No more griping!”  Do what God has given both the desire and the power for… without complaining, arguing, or reluctance.  I admit to frequent complaining and reluctance! And it stings a bit.

Imagine the difference between obeying God willingly or reluctantly.

Which holds the promise of greater blessing?  Certainly, to obey is better than to refuse, but willingness adds our own personal ’buy-in,’ investment, and participation.

And it’s only a mindset, a decision, a choice we make.  But what a difference that mindset makes!

Father, we thank You for Your Word, which speaks so clearly to our souls. Help us to do what pleases You and with a willing heart.

I Say Yes
