That Cannot Be Seen

Today’s Encouragement is, “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT

That Cannot Be Seen –

We fix our gaze on…

Things that cannot be seen…

Well, we could do this, but we often don’t!  Instead, we look at, focus on, obsess about… the things we see, expect, or fear!  We are focused on the wrong things!

We sometimes even mock the folks who follow this godly wisdom, who “fix their gaze on unseen things.”

The Truth is, everything we see with our physical eyes “will soon be gone!”  Our earthly lives are short! Our possessions, accomplishments, relationships… everything we see and relate to in this life, ‘will soon be gone;’ it is all fading away!  Especially the problems and the ‘troubles we can see now.’

It takes a choice, decision, prayer, and practice to ‘fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.’  But what freedom!  Freedom from the cares of this world awaits us as we look beyond, raise our eyes, and focus on those ‘things that will last forever.’

Try it.  Pray. Fix your gaze on Jesus, His power, His Love, and His Strength.  Every time the troubles of this world start to scream at you, Look to Him.

Father God, help us to look beyond today’s problems, pain, hurts, and fears, and allow us to “see” You, Your Eternal Love, Peace, Acceptance, and Grace.  And then the cares of this world will fade away.

I Fix My Eyes on You
