Today’s Encouragement is, “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” 2 Corinthians 4:17 ESV
Glory Beyond All Comparison –
We all need to be reminded sometimes – This life on earth is not all there is! It’s a distinction of our faith that we recognize eternity is a reality. We strive to consider and remain aware of our eternal nature as human beings saved by the Grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
It’s not easy! We get caught up in the immediate issues of our lives, bills to pay, illnesses, accidents, and ‘afflictions,’ which certainly do not seem ‘light’ or ‘momentary,’ and tend to lose focus on the Truth, the reality of our eternity.
And what an eternity it is! Glory beyond all comparison!
We can’t even imagine it! “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.’” 1 Corinthians 2:9
“Then we will be with the Lord forever.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17b
Not sitting on a cloud playing a harp, but in Paradise!
“And Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.’” Luke 23:43 NLT
My friend, take your eyes off your “light momentary affliction,” all of life’s problems (it isn’t easy, but it is wise!), and consider what lies ahead… imagine it!
And then, consider… the eternal glory is beyond all comparison!
Thank You, Father, for choosing and adopting us as Your own people. We are amazed when we think about the Glory of eternity with You. Help us bear with our light and momentary afflictions, which prepare us for Your Eternal Glory!
