Today’s Encouragement is, “Then Moses went back to the LORD and protested, ‘Why have you brought all this trouble on your own people, Lord? Why did you send me? Ever since I came to Pharaoh as your spokesman, he has been even more brutal to your people. And you have done nothing to rescue them!’” Exodus 5:22-23 NLT
You have done nothing –
Moses was frustrated! He was embarrassed, doubting God; he was just fed up! He had obeyed God, gone to Egypt, convinced the leaders of his people, Israel, that God had sent him to deliver them from Pharaoh, and he had told Pharaoh what God had instructed him to say. But in response, Pharaoh only made things much worse for them! So, it’s as if Moses was saying, “God, I’m doing everything right! But Pharaoh isn’t cooperating! The people of Israel are mad at me, too! Why did You do this to me!” “You have done nothing…”
Sometimes, we get this way, too! We ask, “God, why aren’t You answering my prayers? Why is all this bad stuff happening to me?”
Friends, God is very patient! But we are very impatient! God knows the beginning and end; we’re focused on the past and present but have no clue about tomorrow. God sees all of time far more clearly than we see the present! He’s not finished! The story’s not over yet! There’s more to come!
What if we add three letters to Moses’ complaint… just three letters that change everything!
Y.E.T.
God hasn’t done anything… YET! But He will!… The story’s not over!
Father, help us trust You, ask You for help, guidance, deliverance, whatever our need, and then wait…in faith… for You.
The Story’s Not Over
