Today’s Encouragement is, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
Be Thankful –
The Bible repeats the theme, “Give Thanks, Be Thankful!” A grateful heart is God’s will for His people and a clear indication of spiritual maturity. The more we grow in our relationship with God and understand His Grace and Love, clearly and perfectly demonstrated through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, the greater our gratitude.
Yet, at times, we just aren’t very grateful. Things are tough, prayers don’t seem to be answered, and we feel like we can’t catch a break. Still, God’s words are Truth, as bizarre as they may seem: “In all circumstances!”
Years ago, my brother was suffering greatly from a toothache and said, “I kept praying for relief from the pain, and then it hit me; I had never thanked God for all the days that I didn’t have a toothache!”
We can always be thankful for our salvation! There’s no more extraordinary gift! And most of us don’t have a toothache at the moment!
Is it possible that…
When we choose to thank God in all circumstances, including our toothache or troubles, for just a moment, we have risen above our circumstances, stepped up and out, and onto a higher plain of spiritual reality. We can choose to be thankful to God “in all circumstances.” Feelings don’t matter, and circumstances don’t determine our gratitude.
Just Be Thankful!
Father God, we thank You that all our troubles fade into obscurity in the light of Your eternity and in Your perspective. Help us to step into the Eternal; help us “Be Thankful.”
Praise You In This Storm

Amen. Thank you.
