A Resounding Yes

Today’s Encouragement is, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’” 2 Corinthians 1:20a NLT

A Resounding Yes – 

May I share a personal experience? Today, in my morning devotional, I was thinking about Romans 8:6: “Let the Holy Spirit control your mind.” I spoke to the Holy Spirit and asked, “Will You please control my mind today?” and the answer was, “Yes, I do.” I then asked, “Are you here with me?“ He answered, “Yes, I do.”  

I asked many other questions from scripture, and the answer to each was the same, “Yes, I do.” I remember asking, ”Do you have good plans for me?” “Yes, I do.” I even asked, “Do you want me to write this?” and the answer was, again, “Yes, I do. “I then remembered today’s scripture, “All God’s promises are, “Yes in Christ.’” 

The “I do” was initially curious, but then I realized it had a message.  It wasn’t “I have done that,” nor “I will do that,” but God’s eternal present tense.  Implying all tenses, “I did then, I do now, I will then.”  Always, Eternally.  God is “I Am,” He is “Yes,” He is with us and For us and in us!

Father God, we are so grateful that Your Holy Spirit lives within us. Help us listen to Your Spirit, relate to You, and communicate with You so that we may grow ever closer to You.
