I Will Hold You Up

Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NLT

I will hold you up – 

We are at times, aren’t we?  Discouraged, afraid, disappointed, overwhelmed, abandoned, betrayed… it happens to us all at times. 

We may respond to these difficult times with, “Where is God? Why did He do this to me? Why did He let this happen?”

His answer is here; He assures us: 

I am your God. 

I will strengthen you.

I will help you. 

I will hold you up. 

With my victorious right hand.   

We want a comfortable life, a little excitement, peace, loving friends and family, and a happy day. 

Yet God assures us that isn’t the way life is… troubles come to us all, and at times, the trials are so great that we lose focus, we panic, we forget Whose we are, that He told us that life would be hard, (John 16:33b NLT “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”) 

But in every painful, despairing circumstance… God is Constant, Present, and Victorious, and He Holds us! 

It may not ‘feel’ like it, we may not ‘see’ it, we may not have enough left in us even to hope… But God’s word remains forever. He is Truth, He is Love.  He is Victorious. 

Father God, thank You for the promise that You will hold us always, especially in our pain, suffering, sorrow, and grief… You hold us in Your victorious hand.
