Today’s Encouragement is, “‘LORD, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress.” Psalm 107:6 NLT
They Cried in Their Trouble –
This sentence is repeated four times in this psalm. Each time, it is the people’s response to suffering. Some had wandered (v4), were in prison, rebellious (v10-11), were foolish and rebellious (v17), or cringed in fear at their wit’s end (v27).
And He Rescued them…
All who cried to Him. In trouble without cause or even of their own making! “Lord, Help!” No prolonged prayer, no tearful confession acknowledging their sin, nothing but crying out, asking for undeserved mercy!
And all mercy is undeserved, my friend. All of us are sinners. No matter how good we may appear on the surface.
And yet, they cried… and He rescued!
Father, thank You for Your Mercy. You rescue us from our troubles, even from those we deserve or have caused ourselves!
