We Live By Every Word

Today’s Encouragement is, “He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Deuteronomy 8:3b NLT

We live by every word –

Too often, in the daily busyness of this life, we find ourselves tossed around, discouraged, depressed, doubting, and generally hopeless.  It seems inevitable we have times of strength and then times of weakness.

Is it possible that our nourishment is a contributing factor to this situation?

When I eat healthy, I am stronger, more alert, optimistic, and hopeful. When I eat poorly—not enough or too much… I begin to slide downhill physically.

Our spiritual lives are similar… we need spiritual food to stay spiritually healthy.

So, my friends, what is the source of your spiritual food, your daily bread? Is this devotional, as spiritually nutritious as it might be, the sole source of your ‘soul-food’ intake?

May I suggest you go to His table, His Word, and feed your soul from the many truths there… going yourself allows you to take in as much as you need!

Now, a little bit of God’s Word, like this daily encouragement, is a very good spiritual meal to begin your day… and hopefully, it is enough to sustain you all day long. However, there are often times when we need more! My friend, we can always go to His Word directly to receive precisely the spiritual nourishment our souls require.

Father God, help us to come to You… every day … and whenever we need strength and encouragement… for You alone have the words of eternal life (John 6:68).
