Today’s Encouragement is, “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 ESV
We Love Because –
Have you ever known someone who truly loved you? A parent, spouse, a dear friend… someone who sincerely loved you…
What was your response to their love? Did it make you feel warm, secure, content, or even euphoric? Did it cause you to love that person in return?
God’s Love is incomparable to our human love. Our love is finite, selfish, and often misdirected, unrequited, and even oppressive. Not so with God’s Love.
Once we recognize and truly begin comprehending the incredible depth of God’s Love for us… we will respond in the same manner. We will come to know, understand, and accept His immeasurable Love… and then we will become transformed into people who Love Him. God’s Love, supernatural, unlimited, immeasurable, and undeserved, fills us to overflowing.
He loved us first (and He still does), so we love Him, and we also love others.
God is Love – it is His nature, identity, and predominant characteristic. And this Love transforms us.
Nothing can separate us from His Love (Romans 8:38)
Love is the greatest and most permanent thing (I Corinthians 13:13)
Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:8)
And we are rooted and established in Love (Ephesians 3:17)
God so Loved you and me… that He gave…
Jesus.
Father, we need to see, experience, and know Your Love. Only You can reveal it to each of us; we long for this. We are nothing without Your Love.
