Turned the World Upside Down

Today’s Encouragement is, “These men [Paul and Silas] who have turned the world upside down have come here also…” Acts 17:6b ESV

Turned The World Upside Down – 

Jesus did that! He turned the world upside down! And so did His disciples, Paul and Silas, after Him! And so do His people and His church today! 

Really?   Yes! 

Still, today, the world believes that: “You can have whatever you want; just go for it, work hard for it, dream for it!”  “Hate your enemies.” “Take what you want and hoard your possessions and wealth!” “Me first!” “I decide for myself what is right and wrong and what is true.” And “I could never forgive you for that!”  This is the perspective of the world…

But God…

Jesus turned the world upside down! 

He taught –

Love your enemies, bless those that curse you.  Give to others. Lay down your life. Love God and Love others.  Forgive those who hurt you seventy times seven. And so much more. 

It’s an important concept to recognize for our spiritual growth.  The thinking of this world is precisely contrary to Jesus’s truth!  It was true in His days on this earth! And it’s still true today.  

Father God, only by Your transforming power can we truly follow Jesus.  We want to be faithful followers; please work in our lives so that we, too, turn this world upside down.  Help us live boldly in contrast to the self-centered culture of this world; to be faithful and true to You.
