The Very Essence –
At times, we need to be reminded that certain things are true and are the foundation of our faith. These are the Bible Truths; God’s Word is True.
“His Words will never change or pass away.”(Matthew 24:35) Only Truth is permanent, eternal.
“With God everything is possible” (Matthew 19:26). God is Omnipotent, which means All-Powerful, Almighty. He can do anything (some qualify this with – “except, He will not be untrue to Himself, His nature”).
Humans often try to reduce our concept of God to someone, something we can understand or wrap our minds around. This idea has value but is limited. We need to understand His nature and His heart… in fact, this very need is addressed by God… He sent His Son to this earth for this very reason, so that we might understand His nature (John 14:9).
And yet, my friend, God is even greater, beyond, more significant than the Bible. (I know that sounds heretical!). Remember, we have only a portion of the deeds and word of Jesus (John 21:25), and God certainly cannot be contained in one book – no matter how wonderful and inspired it is! Yet the Bible is True, all of it! But it is not God. It is His message… but it’s not Him!
Jesus is The Truth!
Father God, we ask for clarity to understand Your Truth, which Jesus revealed, explained, and embodied. Help us rest in Your Truth by faith in Him.
