With Compassion

Today’s Encouragement is, “When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. ‘Don’t cry!’ he said.” Luke 7:13 NLT

With Compassion –

There’s something beautiful about this word – Compassion.

Overflowing from Jesus’ heart – to this grieving woman.

In other passages, the Compassion of Jesus is also evident. “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36 NLT, and also, “Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” Matthew 14:14

Jesus was often surrounded and engulfed by people who needed Him—a healing touch, a word of hope, food for their souls. But He was never overwhelmed by this or exasperated by the needy crowd. Instead, He was repeatedly moved to Compassion!

What a beautiful and clear description of the perfect Heart of Jesus.  He was, and He still is – Compassionate!

Friends when we are pleading on our knees, whether in brokenness, sorrow, or desperation… Jesus hears, He sees, He understands… and He has Compassion for you and me!

Thank You, Jesus, for Your beautiful compassion for us! Help us, Lord, to trust in and rest in… Your Kindness, Compassion, and Grace.

The Lord is Gracious and Compassionate
