Today’s Encouragement is, “For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search and find my sheep.” Ezekiel 34:11 NLT
I Myself Will –
God spoke to His servant Ezekiel about the leaders of His people. They were taking advantage of the people, and He had had enough! “I will rescue my flock from their mouths; the sheep will no longer be their prey.” Ezekiel 34:10b NLT
This is our Father’s Love for His people, His sheep. He sees what the leaders have done and are doing to His people and stops it! But notice what He does…
“I Myself will” search and find… and rescue them (v12), gather (v13), feed (v14) and strengthen (v16) His sheep! Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me.” John 10:14 NLT
God removed the leaders from their positions because they had fed themselves on the sheep (v 10)! So, beware of leaders who use you rather than supporting you!
And now, God Himself is our shepherd, rescuer, gatherer, and even our source of food and strength! He doesn’t need any human being (although He certainly can use us); our relationship is direct. God and us. Just as He first intended and created, with Adam and Eve walking and talking with Him in Eden. Our Father who loves us. He is close. He is our Shepherd.
Thank You, Loving Father, for personally rescuing each of us. Help us recognize the intensity of Your perfect knowledge of, and individual Love for, each one of us. As we grow in understanding of Your Immeasurable Love for each of us, please teach us how to love You well in return.
