The Light Shines

Today’s Encouragement is, “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5 NLT

The Light Shines – 

At the beginning of John’s gospel, these amazing words reveal so much truth.  ‘The Word,’ as used here, describes Jesus; He. Gave. Life. To. Everything! And He is the Light!

He also spoke this truth, “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the Light – of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’ John 8:12 NLT

He Is The Light!  And by following Him, we overcome the darkness!

Darkness is a metaphor for sin, evil, and confusion; it is the time of day (not the only time) when crimes and sins are committed when we think we might get away with it…. But the clear light of day exposes the reality!  Sin cannot hide in the Light!

In His Light, His Presence, the truth is revealed, and our sin and need for Someone to Save us from ourselves… 

And my friends… the darkness can never extinguish THE LIGHT! Jesus is always Victorious! 

Father God, please help us to choose to walk in the Light, the Light of Jesus.
