Keep On

Today’s Encouragement is, “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10 NLT

Keep on – 

His disciples asked him (v1) ‘Lord, teach us to pray.’ And he taught them the Lord’s Prayer… then immediately He adds a parable about being persistent, consistent, determined, dedicated… in asking, praying for what you need. And then in v9-10, “Keep On!”

It seems almost impudent, rude, demanding, the way the parable reads… and yet He clearly instructs us – ‘Keep on!’  Keep on Asking God for what you need! 

Friends, Jesus tells us that God responds – when we Keep On… Jesus taught us to ‘Keep On’! 

We too often give our prayers one shot and then move on—in the next breath, to another prayer need, then another. Now, of course, God does not get tired of hearing our prayers! He is not a man with a short fuse or limited patience… He is Love; our Loving, Kind, Patient, Perfect, Almighty Heavenly Father (there aren’t enough words to describe Him!).

So, we are wise to pray with persistence, consistency, diligence, intention, focus, and confidence… because He told us to! 

So, my Friends, – Don’t Stop Praying!

Father God, help us be persistent and leave it all up to You, no matter how long.  You know the absolute best way and best time to answer our prayer! We trust You.
