Devote Yourselves

Today’s Encouragement is, “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” Colossians 4:2 NLT

Devote Yourselves-

This is the best approach to prayer. Too often, we tell others we’re praying for them, but then we don’t! Instead, we can be devoted, steadfast, and persevering in prayer. One approach is to pray short but sincere prayers often, each time a person, problem, or need enters our minds. A brief prayer is better than no prayer, and a long prayer is not necessarily better than a short one. The key to prayer is devotion, trust, and persistence.

Remember this verse? “Never stop praying.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT

How can we be devoted to prayer, alert, and thankful? How to never stop praying?

Stay in constant contact with God.

When your long to-do list comes to mind, Pray! Ask Him to guide you to do the essential things, give you peace about the things you can’t do, and give you success as you tackle the challenges…

When worries pop up (they always do), Pray! Thank Him that He has control of everything and that He will guide you in what you should and should not do in each situation.

When doubts creep in, Pray!  Turn to Him in trust, even in your doubts or fears.

This is devotion to prayer. He is the answer! Talk to Him, always, with an alert mind and thankful heart!

Thank You, Father, that You never tire of us; our prayers are never a bother to You. Instead, You always listen to us as we pray, constantly hearing, caring, and loving your sons and daughters. Help us devote ourselves to prayer and never stop.
