Measure Yourself by Faith

Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” Romans 12:3b NLT

Measure yourself by faith –

We all know folks with a high opinion of themselves; they ‘stick out’ in obvious ways. The same is true for those with low self-esteem. Where are we?

And what is the measure, gauge, or scorecard for proper self-evaluation? You probably won’t be surprised when I suggest God’s word is the perfect tool for self-reflection.

The world lies. Advertising lies, social media lies, and perhaps even our parents lied to us. Lies surround us… telling us who we are, what we need, and what to do! There’s only one trustworthy source of Truth… God.

What does God say about us?  So glad you asked!

And here’s just a sampling of what He says about you and me!

(And no one knows us better than He does!).

(Read this aloud and to yourself, proclaiming God’s truth over the world’s lies.)

By Faith In Jesus:

I am God’s child. JOHN 1:12

I am Christ’s friend.  JOHN 15:15

I have been justified.  ROMANS 5:1

I have been bought with a price; I belong to God. 1 CORINTHIANS 6:20

I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit.  EPHESIANS 2:18

I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins.  COLOSSIANS 1:14

I am complete in Christ. COLOSSIANS 2:10

And there is so much more!

Thank you, Father, for all you have done for us! Help us to measure ourselves correctly – by our Faith in You. As believers in Jesus, we are deeply loved and forgiven, Your own reborn children, complete in You.
