To Be Content

Today’s Encouragement is, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.” Philippians 4:11 NLT

To Be Content –

Have we?  Learned how to be content? Paul had every reason to be discontent!  He was beaten with rods, flogged, stoned, imprisoned, shipwrecked, and more! (See 2 Corinthians 11:23-28.) So how in the world could he even use the word?

My friend, God’s word is always enlightening, educating, teaching, guiding, and encouraging us to learn, grow, and become stronger in faith and wiser.  And Contentment is powerful wisdom!  From Paul’s personal experience, we can understand how to be content!

Paul continues… “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 NLT

This passage follows the beautiful description of turning from worry to prayer in verses 6-8, the pathway to God’s Peace.  Don’t worry; pray about everything, ask God, and be thankful. And then His Peace comes! And within His Peace – we are certainly – Content.

Thank You God for providing us The Way to peace and contentment – Faith in Jesus. Help us to rely on You, Your love, mercy, and provision and to be content with whatever we have.

My worth is not in what I own
