Today’s Encouragement is, “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT
God’s Peace-
The previous verse describes the spiritual process and the steps necessary for arriving at what may seem impossible: God’s Peace!
Unlike our peace, our efforts to calm ourselves, which is nice but short-lived, His Peace is unconstrained. It makes no logical sense to our human understanding. His Peace is perfect! Isaiah 26:3 NLT “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you.”
We see our circumstances and see no way to have peace! You may have heard it said, “If you are calm, then you just don’t understand the situation!” This is the way the world thinks.
In stark contrast, God’s Peace is beyond, above, and transcendent to our circumstances. It comes from God; He is the source and not us. We don’t conjure, create, or choose to be at peace. Instead, it is His gift, which He gives as we follow His proscribed path to peace from Philippians 4:6 NLT “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” This turns our focus away from our problems and toward complete trust in God.
His Peace is the supernatural result of our obedience to His simple process of faith.
My friend, the world offers many pathways to peace. Some are false, and some may work for a while, but God’s Peace is perfect, and it exceeds anything we can humanly understand.
Father, how can we thank You enough for allowing us to live in Your Peace? You are so good to us.
