Today’s Encouragement is, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 NLT
Listen to my Voice –
“I’m hearing voices!” Those are some pretty scary words! We are wide-eyed, shocked, and take a few steps back…
But in truth, we all ‘hear’ many different voices in our minds. They may say, “This is too good; it can’t last.” “You know you can’t fool them for very long.” “I sure hope no one finds out.” “They really don’t like you!” “Nobody really cares.” Or a few million other statements, most accusing and doubting!
The source of any voices we might hear can only be – ourselves based on our past experiences and perceptions; our enemy, the accuser; or God. Distinguishing these voices is critical to our spiritual growth and living a sane and godly life.
Jesus said we believers would listen to His voice and follow Him. The only way to know what voice we are listening to… is to consider the content of the message…
“Does this line up with the Truth?”
God’s word is the Truth; it is our evaluation tool, like a measuring stick or scales, to determine Truth from lies.
God’s words to us are always encouraging, supportive, and always loving! Because – He is our Perfect Loving Father! Every word from Him to us, His chosen, adopted, and dearly loved sons and daughters, is from His Wisdom and Love. Any other voice, my friend, will lead us into darkness and sorrow!
Father, Thank You for speaking to us through Your Word, guiding us in the light and allowing us to Listen to Your Voice, the Voice of Truth.
