Today’s Encouragement is, “We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19 NLT
He First Loved Us –
What is the source of Love? The world teaches us it is emotional, sexual, and physical; that we fall into and out of love with others. Certainly, the reality of human love can’t be denied! Yet we humans can also develop ‘love’ for negative things as quickly as good things. And this love can become ‘sick’ poisoning, deadly!
God’s Love for us – and our God-given Love for Him and for each other – is totally different!
Human love wants, needs, and desires what our human body and mind want… endlessly seeking any experience that makes us feel (emotionally) better!
The Truth is – only God’s Love will satisfy us! Jesus clarified for us that the two Greatest messages from God are: love God and love others as you love yourself! (Matthew 22:37-40).
It is an ongoing process. As we continuously accept God’s love, grace, and forgiveness, we continuously receive His Love into our lives, filling our hearts, minds, and emotions. Then, filled with His Love, we become New Creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) because His Love has filled us. And as New Creations, full of God’s love (to the point of overflowing, because we cannot contain His Love!), we overflow His Love from within us – to others, all around us. We effortlessly become vessels of God’s Love to anyone we contact!
We love each other—- because He First loved us!
Father God, how can we ever thank You enough for Your Perfect Love? This Love that saves, recreates, transforms, and flows into us and through us to others. Your Way is truly Perfect, Father, and we are so very grateful.
God So Loved
We the Kingdom
