Today’s Encouragement is, “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it, and no moth can destroy it. Luke 12:32-33 NLT

Interesting points:
God Gives us the Kingdom (v32)
We can sell our possessions and give to the poor (anyone in need) (v33)
Whatever we give away – provides a treasure in heaven (eternally available and safe treasure) (v33)
Our hearts are tied to our treasure (v34), either earthly or heavenly… we choose.
It is a mutually exclusive choice…
It’s not easy for us to give away what we have; we’ve earned it, or it’s been given to us, and it’s “Mine!”
Our perspective of life fuels our greed. When we consider our days on this earth as the full extent of “life,” then we certainly want to accumulate all we can to provide for ourselves and our loved ones. That’s normal human logic.
But God’s ways are not our ways! (Isaiah 55:8-9). His ways are better, higher!
When we develop an eternal, Godly perspective… we can see that this life is but a mist (James 4:14), and God’s gift to us of eternal life and His Kingdom… makes every possession we have here on earth completely insignificant. Our homes, cars, and money are decaying and useless in Eternity.
Father God, Grant us Your eternal perspective so that we can live in confidence that You have and always will provide for our every need… even more than we need…
