Today’s Encouragement is, “And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. [14] The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people.” Ephesians 1:13b-14a NLT
When You Believed –
It began…
When we believed…
God gave us His Holy Spirit…
To identify us as His own people…
The Spirit is our guarantee…
That God will…
Give us an inheritance…
And He is the guarantee that God…
Has (now, already) purchased us…
This isn’t just for some “really good people,” nor for those who have advanced education, study the Bible a lot, or were raised well and never did very many bad things…. This is God’s gift; in Love, He chose to reach out to all people and give them the opportunity to believe in Jesus. Then He allows each one – to believe or not.
That’s the distinction. Belief in Jesus. Only this.
And once we believed…
God does the rest!
We simply believe in Jesus!
As the sons and daughters of God, we have an immense and wonderful future—eternity—ahead of us. This world has its troubles and pains, but we aren’t here very long. We are eternal beings, blessed by God, purchased for Himself, and He has given us His Spirit to guarantee all this!
Father God, as we consider all the truths in Your Word, we are overwhelmed by Your Goodness. We may not understand very much, and we may have unanswered questions… but… we believe!
