Share with those in need –
We immediately think of people on street corners with ‘Need Help’ signs, but is it possible that this applies to more than giving a few dollars to the obviously needy?
Could it also apply to honoring God and blessing those around you with All that He has given you?
Consider the range of gifts and skills you possess. Musical talent, teaching ability, cooking skills, mechanic skills, biblical wisdom-what do you have that can be shared with others?
Does God give us skills and abilities to please only ourselves? If we are to Love God and to love others, His greatest commandment… would this not include sharing the gifts He has given us with Him first, then with others?
He has made each of us as seasoning salt and as lights to the darkness around us (Matt 5:13-14). Will we withhold this salt and light from others? Whether we know or understand exactly how, or what, or when, to share with people who are in need… God knows, and what we are sharing is ultimately His because, my friends, we belong to Him; everything we have – comes from, and belongs to, God alone!
Father, open our hearts to share with those in need, the obvious and not-so-obvious. More than just our money, but also our time, skills, Hope, and Faith in You… and most of all, Father, help us to share Your Love!
