Today’s Encouragement is, “‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
My Ways are Higher –
This truth offers us great peace. We are not supposed, expected, or required to understand God’s ways and His thoughts. They are infinitely beyond us. (He is God; we ain’t!) We can simply rest in the truth that He knows everything, and we don’t have to!
Our human desire is to have all the answers and not need to rely on anyone or anything.
But that is our way, not God’s.
His way is… we trust Him for everything we need! He gives us the example of the Good Shepherd and the sheep (John 10:11). Sheep are totally dependent upon their shepherd for everything: food, water, protection, guidance…
So are we to depend, rely on, and trust Him. We cannot understand His ways or thoughts, so we simply trust Him!
There is great freedom in this… we don’t strive, we don’t plan; we just follow Him, the good, perfect, and loving Shepherd-Father who cares for our every need.
Father, help us to follow You faithfully in trust and peace, confident of Your care and provision for us. Your Way is the Best Way!
