Today’s Encouragement is, “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3 NLT
Everything we need –
We pray for strength, courage, faith, patience, wisdom, hope, success, and so many other things. We are constantly asking for something from Our Father. Now, it is good to ask Him for our needs, to recognize He is the source of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17), and that we desperately need Him!
Yet, before we ask Him, my friends, wouldn’t it be wise to look into what He has already given us? “God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.” God has already given us… Everything we need… for living a godly life! Sorta shocking isn’t it. We can come up with a long list of things, attributes, gifts, and skills that we think are needed for living a godly life. Yet God’s word says… we ALREADY have… EVERYTHING… And we have (ALREADY) received all this by coming to know Jesus!
Knowing Jesus, we have everything we need to live a godly life.
Father God, please reveal to us how knowing Jesus has already equipped us with everything that we need to live a godly life, a life pleasing to you. You are so good to us, Lord. Open our eyes to this truth!
