Today’s Encouragement is, “But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 ESV
Wait For The Lord –
You’ve heard it, maybe you’ve said it…”Be careful what you pray for; you might get it!” Or, “Don’t make the mistake of praying for Patience!” Or “God helps those who help themselves.” And there are numerous other “wise sayings” from well-meaning folks, often from Christians… that –
Just Ain’t True!
God is not an unfeeling, uncaring, and vindictive petty person who would say, “Ok, you asked for it!” And then hammer us with troubles and trials mercilessly to teach us patience! That’s not the action of a Loving, Perfect Father! Rather than such mean-spirited behavior, our God is patient with us (Romans 2:4) and wants us to be patient with Him!
Waiting is about timing, and His timing is always perfect. Because He knows everything. We think, “This has gone on long enough! Lord, You’ve got to do this right now!” Because we said so? Because we have grown impatient? Or Because we know better than Him?
Friend, as we trust Him, we release our will, our way, and the timing to Him. When we trust and wait on Him, we can be at peace, confident that He hears, sees, and acts on behalf of those who love Him.
Father God, as always, we need You! We need Your Strength and courage to wait and trust You, Your way, and Your timing.
Waiting Here For You
