Willing To Listen –
Other translations read, “For those who have ears to hear.” Do we? Are we? Will we?
Listening is an art. And it is rare. If you think that you are not being heard and no one is listening to you, it can be terribly frustrating! And if you find someone who will really listen to you, you have found a rare treasure!
What if you had an answer to the question that the folks around you were all discussing and debating… “Wait a minute, I know what to do!” …but no one was willing to listen; no one had ears to hear!
Now consider Jesus. All His earthly life He taught us, and His teachings were perfect! He always taught us the Truth – because He is The Truth! (John 14:6) yet so few listened! But… those few were enough! And they wrote down what they heard from Him… so that we have His written Word!
May I ask you? Are you willing to listen? Are your ears open to The Truth?
Then – “Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.”
Father, we need You always, for everything. You are the source of Life, of every good and perfect gift. Help us be willing to listen, give us ears to hear, and grant us the courage to act upon and live out Your Truth!
