Give Up Your Life For Me –
June 29 is the traditional date of the apostle Paul’s martyrdom, and today, it is recognized as the Day of the Christian Martyr. We don’t like to think about it, but Christians are persecuted and dying for their faith still today all over the world. And how is this Encouragement? All believers face some persecution at times. It may be mild comparatively, yet we may lose friends, job opportunities, or social standing because we believe, because we choose to follow Christ and no other.
These seemingly minor ‘persecutions’ are, in fact, significant steps in our journey of faith! Choosing God’s way over our own, or the path of others, is a genuine form of giving up our lives for Him. Regardless of how small the act may seem, the impact of this choice is immense. God sees. And He is pleased with our choice.
And we ultimately find our lives- when we have given them up for Christ.
Father, please give us Your strength, courage, and resolve to give up our lives for You, in whatever form that may take, and so – to find our lives.
