Never Give Up –
Sometimes – our prayers seem unanswered; the healing doesn’t come; our loved ones are not saved.
We want to know- Why? Is it some sin that prevents our prayers from being answered? Are we praying wrong? Are we praying for something that isn’t God’s will for us? Are we not good enough to have our prayers answered? Does God not hear us? Does God exist?
Notice that Jesus doesn’t address any such questions here. He is teaching only one idea… always pray, never give up!
Is it possible that God just hasn’t answered our prayer yet? His timing is often very different from ours. We may be ready yesterday, but He knows the absolute best time. “Yet” is an essential spiritual concept… aligned with “waiting on the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).
Finally, we often mistakenly think that God thinks and acts like us. That He wants what we want. But not so! ‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8a NLT. So, it is impossible for us, mere humans, to understand Him! (We don’t really understand ourselves!) We are to live by Faith in Him, not by our knowledge, wisdom, or understanding.
Never Give Up Praying!
Father God, we need Your strength to persist in prayer. Help us to continue to believe that You hear us, You know us, and that You will never let go.
