A Wonderful Feast

Today’s Encouragement is, “In Jerusalem, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will spread a wonderful feast for all the people of the world. It will be a delicious banquet with clear, well-aged wine and choice meat.” Isaiah 25:6 NLT

A Wonderful Feast –

Isaiah prophesied these words seven centuries before Jesus was born on earth. We now benefit from both hindsight and foresight when considering Biblical prophecy historically.

We know that Jesus provided bread and wine to his disciples at the Passover feast on the night he was arrested. He also instructed us to remember Him this way, his body and blood as our bread and wine (Communion).

Similarly, He fulfilled all the prophecies (hundreds of them) of the OT. But wait, there’s more!  Later in Isaiah 25:8, “He will wipe away every tear, and swallow up death – forever.”  And after this Wonderful Feast – “In that day the people will proclaim, ‘This is our God! We trusted in him, and he saved us! This is the LORD, in whom we trusted. Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!’”

Jesus is the salvation God brought us; He is the Feast!  And He is available to all (all the people of the world) who will accept His Gift.

Finally, because God’s word is living (Heb 4:12), this prophetic word still lives, and the Wonderful Feast described here will also occur at the end of time – when all of God’s people (“of the world”) are together with Him in the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:22), which is His Heaven!

Father, we are amazed at the Wonderful Feast You have prepared for us. Help us to believe, to trust, and to rest in Your promises, confident that You will fulfill every single one.

We Will Feast in the House of Zion
