Today’s Encouragement is, “And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him.” Matthew 8:14-15 ESV
He Saw –
Sometimes, people come to Jesus, like the leper in v2, and ask for healing. But notice here: Jesus saw the need, no one asked Him, and yet He healed.
Some may say, “To receive healing or answers to prayer from God, you must do this or that and ask Him in this manner.” They are piling up rules so that you can be ‘worthy’ of getting the blessing you desire from God.
Nope! Sorry, Not True!
As you can see in this passage, God has His Own Will—Jesus also. And God’s will is healing. Physical, spiritual, emotional, or mental healing is all the same to Him.
He sees our needs. He knows us infinitely better than we can ever know ourselves. He doesn’t listen for the right words, “Did you follow all the steps?” to determine if we are worthy of His blessings.
Now, it’s good to ask and keep asking and to pray in faith, trusting that He hears and will respond when He chooses the best time and manner. But my friend, please don’t make the mistake of thinking that God only responds to worthy people or those who ask just the right way, etc. (because none of us can ever be worthy or right).
Lord God, we thank You that You see, know, love, and choose; You do Your own Will, as You know best. Help us to simply trust You.
