Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 15:19 NLT And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.
If Only For This Life –
Our hope in Christ is NOT only for this life but for this life and for Eternity. We have Eternal life through our faith in Jesus!
So, our perspective of life, death, and eternity is filled with hope and faith-filled confidence in God’s promises, His Word, and His Son. We do not focus our hope on things, comfort, or this physical life; rather, we focus on and fix our eyes upon Jesus and the eternal life, Peace, Rest, Praise, Joy, and even Glory that awaits us.
We who trust in Jesus don’t make the grave mistake of thinking that this life is where we will experience everything good that God has for us. He has said clearly that our reward is in heaven (Matthew 5:12).
We live now by faith in this fallen world, knowing that our hope is eternal and that we now and always will Abide with our God.
Help us, Loving Father, to see clearly from Your eternal perspective, the brevity and fleeting nature of this earthly life, with its joys and pains, and the everlasting beauty and peace of our eternal life in Your Presence.
