Today’s Encouragement is Revelation 12:10b-11a NLT For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth- the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.
They Have Defeated Him –
Notice past tense, the finality, the manner and means of our victory – his defeat.
The Blood of The Lamb…
And the Word of our testimony…
Friends, we don’t defeat the enemy through willpower, intelligence, determination, optimism, or good works.
The enemy of our souls, the Accuser, the one who accuses us 24/7 before God, is completely and permanently overcome, defeated, and so – erased from our lives…
By the blood of Jesus and by our testimony.
Jesus’ blood has bought us for God; His blood has purchased us (Ephesians 1:7). This moves us out of this earthly world’s realm and into God’s spiritual kingdom.
And our testimony is our ongoing proclamation, confession, praise, and worship of our God. We are not ashamed (Romans 1:16), we praise Him continually (Psalm 75:9), and we share the good news (1 Thessalonians 2:8). And as we do… We defeat the work of our enemy; we overcome him, his work, the evil, the darkness, and sin itself.
Our enemy is defeated (now, already) only by the Blood of Jesus and our testimony and our words!
Thank You, Father, for providing this path to victory for Your people. Thank You that You allow us to participate in this victory through our testimony. Strengthen us, make us bold witnesses of Jesus and of all that You have done for us!
