Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 2:28 NLT And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
Full of Courage –
Have you ever noticed the stark contrast between fear and faith in the Bible? It often tells us, “Be strong,” “Take courage,” and “Don’t be afraid.” Why? Because fear Is the antithesis of faith, and as believers, we are called to walk in faith, not fear.
Whether it’s an enemy, abusive boss or spouse, the unknown future, the latest illness, crime, or our finances, we have an endless supply of fear-feeding sources!
Yet, we also have the antidote! The One who can speak with absolute authority to our mind, heart, and soul… Fear Not!
It’s reasonable and appropriate to recognize God’s Holiness, Perfection, and Purity and that we are so far from being worthy of Him or being in His Presence. But we believe in Christ; He has purified us by His blood, and He has called us His own, His friends… so we can be Full of Courage! Even when standing before God Himself. Because Jesus stands with us! We’re His!
Jesus speaks to Almighty God and says of you and me – “Father, this one is Mine!”
So, my friend, because of Jesus, we can be Full of Courage in every aspect of our lives… whether it’s the worries and cares of life or standing before God Himself… Do Not Fear!
Lord Jesus, we recognize our need for Your strength and courage daily and also when we stand before God… Without You, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but we can do all things through Christ, who gives us Strength (Phil 4:13).
