Today’s Encouragement is John 18:6 NLT As Jesus said “I AM he,” they all drew back and fell to the ground!
I Am –
Judas the betrayer, some battle-hardened Roman soldiers, and temple guards all came ready for battle to arrest Jesus… and when He said the words, I Am He,… they backed up! They all fell down!!!
Please don’t miss this! Jesus didn’t yell nor thunder his voice like the movies portray… He simply spoke Eternal, Supernatural Truth!
He said, “I Am.”
Consider this for a second. God said these exact words to Moses a few thousand years before (Exodus 3:14). Jesus has said this several times also – because Jesus is God (John 10:30). Now we know that Jesus is God’s son. He has existed eternally (John 1:1). He will live forever (Revelation 11:15). And this Jesus is: Our Rock, Defender, Living Hope, Eternal, Advocate, Master, Savior, Teacher, Friend, Brother, Strength, Peace, and, and, and, …He is Everything. As He said, “I AM”.
And everything we need, hope for, long for, for all of our earthly lives and our eternity with Him – He IS! And He is all we need.
Father God, we desire to be confident, assured, and unshakable in this belief…that You alone are truly all we need and that You meet our every need, desire, and longing. Help us to Know this Truth; we pray in Jesus’ Name.
