Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 2:9 NLT But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
God’s Very Own –
As believers and followers of Jesus, we are incredibly blessed with a status that cannot be overstated. We are His Own!
We are not just forgiven and made right with God in every way (righteous), but we are also given eternal life and more. In this passage, we are collectively described as chosen, royal, holy, and God’s possession, called out of darkness to live, basking in His wonderful, marvelous light! We are so incredibly blessed, even beyond our ability to comprehend or imagine (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Our blessed status is not just for our own benefit; it is a platform for us to demonstrate God’s goodness to others!
We didn’t do anything to deserve this incredible blessing; it’s His Gift to us! And since we didn’t do anything to earn it, we cannot do anything to lose it! It is assured, guaranteed by the deposit of His Holy Spirit in your life… we are given the “privilege” of rejecting His gift, and we can, if foolish enough, say “No thanks” to God’s extended gift… But I’m pretty sure that option ain’t gonna work out so great…
Father God, we thank You for Your incredible blessings, which were given undeservedly because of Your Love for us. Help us to choose to live in Your Marvelous Light!
