Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 11:6 NLT And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Must Believe –
When we pray and ask God for something:
- We can ask anything in Jesus’ Name.
- We are to be persistent in prayer (“always pray and never give up” – Luke 18:1)
- God only grants our prayers consistent with His Will and His plans for us.
- He sometimes says, “Yes,” sometimes “No,” and sometimes “Not yet.”
- We must believe (today’s verse) that He exists and rewards those who sincerely seek Him.
- Recognize that He is Sovereign. He does as He knows best. (His ways are not our ways – Isaiah 55:8-9)
- He is not limited by our human understanding.
- His Grace is sufficient for us. He did not grant Paul’s repeated request for relief from his thorn in the flesh (2 Corinthians 12:8-9)
Always, we are left to Faith in Him. We walk by Faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), so we usually do not ‘see’ Him. We may sometimes be blessed to see the work that He is doing, the results of His work, and glimpses of His plans, but we still are required to walk by faith. Trusting Him even when we cannot see.
Lord, Help us to trust, to walk by faith, to ask, to wait, and to rest in Your perfect will and timing.
