Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 13:16 NLT And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
Please God –
When we see these two words together, we might automatically think, “Please, God, I need…!” or some such pleading request.
But this isn’t the context. Here, we are considering what we flawed humans can do that would please our Father God.
We too often focus on our desperate needs… “Please God, do this, help me, fix this, give me, I need, I want, I, I, I…”
What we’re considering today is how we might do something just – to please Him! Not to get something in return, but only to give… this is an essential aspect of Love…. Self-less-ness. Just for Him!
These examples are clear, simple, and attainable for even the most selfish of us. Do good and share with those in need.
When we do this… we actually please Him! We bring a smile to His face! He turns and notices us, what we have done, self-less-ly, and He is pleased.
It is not only possible, my friend, to Please God. It is simple. And it is not the act of doing and sharing that pleases Him, although these are good… it is the desire of our heart to please Him. Remember… we are His dearly loved people. We are pleasing, simply because we are His!
Father, thank You for allowing us the privilege of pleasing You and for revealing how simple it is to bring a smile to Your heart. Thank You, Father!
