Today’s Encouragement is Luke 15:20 “And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”
Compassion –
The Prodigal Son parable, told by Jesus, is a rich and enlightening message of God’s love and Grace for us, His sinful children. This parable is a personal favorite, an image of God. He’s standing, watching, waiting for His wayward, sinful, wasteful, ungrateful, and generally useless son to maybe, someday, hopefully, return home.
Imagine that – God Himself – watching, waiting, longing, loving, running, embracing, forgiving, rejoicing, restoring, celebrating.
This is His Nature – He is Compassionate! And for even you and I… Every time we need Him, Any time we feel apart from him… we can turn to Him and return to Him. No limit, no judgement, no condemnation… Just Immeasurable Compassion, Love and Grace.
And this is for us! A perfectly accurate description of our God! Not just when He’s feeling good, or when we are returning to Him from some terrible sin, but every single time we turn to Him… He looks on us with Compassion. Because that’s how amazing His Love for us truly is! Remember what He has given, what He has given up… to cleanse us, to forgive us, to restore us to a loving peaceful relationship with Him.
Thank You Father God for Your immeasurable Love and Grace. We are so in need and so grateful.
